Dot IT Domains

Introduced in 1987, Italy’s .IT country-code domain extension is very popular both locally and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for building imaginative and attractive domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to construct an easy-to-remember domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to go back to your website or to give it with colleagues and friends. The domain extension can also be used for a website, which is connected to the technology sector having in mind that IT is an abbreviation, which is recognized around the globe.

Bearing in mind the fact that dot IT domains are not sold directly by IT-NIC, the Registry that manages this extension, such a domain can be reserved through a third-party registration provider, such as ours. We will handle the registration process for you and take care of submitting your application to the Registry organization. You can obtain a .IT domain for a 1-year period at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to us and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been finalized. The sole prerequisite is that the person ordering such a domain should be located in a country, which is a member of the EU.

Since there are existing 2nd-level Domains that include names of various areas and localities in Italy reserved for local third-level registrations, new names that include geographical areas of any kind are not permitted on any level to avoid any future confusion.
