An access log is a text file containing a full report on all the files accessed by your website visitors. All the files which were requested in one way or another will be included, so if you have a PHP script app and a website visitor opens only the home page, for instance, you may find many files inside the log. The reason is that there are elements on the home page that are embedded - parts of other Internet pages, pictures, etcetera. All of these files will be listed inside the access log, so you can get a detailed picture of the way your website works. The information is in plain text format, so the logs are sometimes referred to as "raw data" too. An access log contains the name of each and every requested file, the path to it, the date it was accessed, along with the user’s IP address, Internet browser and Operating System. More info, such as the referrer site, is oftentimes included as well. A log file may be processed by various desktop programs for statistical purposes as an addition to the web statistics created by your hosting server.
Access Log Manager in Shared Website Hosting
When you pick one of our shared website hosting
solutions, you’ll receive in-depth access logs for all your sites. Once you sign in to your Hepsia Control Panel, you should check out the Access/Error Logs section where you will see a thorough list of the domains
and subdomains that you have added or created within the web hosting account. You'll only have to click on the On button, that's found on the right-hand side of every hostname and our cloud platform shall start generating logs at once. To stop this function, you will have to follow the exact same steps and click on the Off button. The domains and subdomains could be managed individually and anytime. You can find a download link inside the Logs section of the CP for every log created by our system, so you can save the file to your computer and view it or use it via some log processing software.
Access Log Manager in Semi-dedicated Hosting
If you host your Internet sites within a semi-dedicated server
account with our company, you will have the option to trigger or disable the generation of access logs with only several clicks within your Hepsia hosting CP. You'll find this feature within the Access/Error Logs section, which you can access as soon as you sign in. All it takes for our system to start generating logs is a click on the On button that you can see there. The feature can be triggered individually for any site regardless of whether it uses a domain or a subdomain and you will find the full list of all the hosts in that section. Any access log can be downloaded as a text file with just a click and you could then see it manually or use some software on your laptop or computer. The log generation could be stopped by simply changing the On option to Off within the Logs section of your CP.
